Short clip from the BFI of a train going over the old railway bridge in 1898, passing through the old Barnstaple town station.

Quite fascinating to see moving pictures from very nearly 120 years ago. Plenty of architecture still recognisable today!

Here are the next ten images from the Barnstaple Town Council photo album labelled “1929 – 1981”.

I’ll probably collate all the images once I’ve scanned them and bash them into on-line albums/archives then, as it seems to be too time consuming to try and do it as I go along. Scanning a few images when I have some spare time & uploading them for you to have a look at, seems to be the way to go. For now at least.
